Organization is one of the key requirements when it comes to successful wedding planning and central to it all is a wedding planning checklist. It can be hard to believe that something so simple could be so vital to the success your wedding day, but you try to plan a wedding without one!

There are many tools available to brides who are about to embark on their wedding planning, but it is the planning checklist that will help them to prioritize the key elements of their day and to stay on schedule. It will if used properly, ensure that nothing is left out, nothing is left to the last minute and that everything the couple wants is there on the big day.

Finding one is not difficult. You can pick one up for free from bridal magazines, books and online wedding websites, the only downside is that more often than not you will need to edit it to fit with your wedding plans and your wedding planning timeline. But, this is not difficult and the free checklist will give you a good framework on which to build your own, tailor made checklist perfectly suited to your wedding plans.

Whilst the checklist is fairly comprehensive in all its details, in some areas it may not be detailed enough. Wedding favors, for instance involve much more than simply ordering a few dozen bottle stoppers from an online store. There is packaging to be decided upon, decorations such as ribbons and embellishments and thank you tags. Then you will time to put them all together into one perfect finished package.

So this is where mini checklists come in. Mini wedding planning checklists are something which you will no doubt find yourself writing on a weekly or daily basis, particularly as you get closer to your wedding day. The will allow you to go into more detail on certain elements of your wedding, ensuring that nothing is overlooked or forgotten which is vital to end product!

Finally, it is always worth having a copy of your wedding planning checklist saved on your computer. This will allow you to come back later on and edit it because of changes or more additions. You should also think about giving copies to the those people who will help you the most with your wedding planning so they can stay informed about where you are at with your wedding preparations.
